Is Candy Corn Vegan?

Candy corn – sometimes called Indian corn – is the unmistakable yellow, orange, and white candy that begins to crop up in vast quantities right before Halloween. Most people either love it or hate it, but what is candy corn made of? Is candy corn vegan?

Candy corn is not vegan. Candy corn is made by many different manufacturers/brands with varying formulas, but you can always count on it containing at least one or two animal-based ingredients. The most common animal-based ingredient used in candy corn is confectioner’s wax, otherwise known as confectioner’s glaze. Candy corn may also contain dairy and/or marshmallows. Brach’s candy corn contains gelatin and honey.
