Denny’s is no vegan’s paradise, but if you wind up at one at 3 AM after a long night of drinking with your friends, you’ll feel relieved to know you have a pretty good selection of vegan options.
Denny’s Vegan Food Options
Fit Fare Menu
Fit Fare is Denny’s “healthy” menu. It’s where you’ll find two decent Denny’s vegan options: the Veggie Skillet and the Loaded Veggie Omelet.
Veggie Skillet: is 100% vegan if you order it without eggs.
Loaded Veggie Omelet: Same, but this one also comes with an English muffin and a cup of fresh fruit — just make sure you tell them not put any butter or margarine on the muffin. Essentially, you’ll get a plate of sautéed veggies that you can put on your muffin to make a decent breakfast sandwich.
Lunch
For lunch you can build your own burger, which is definitely the best vegan option. They have a veggie-patty, which is typically a Boca burger, but some locations might use a different patty, so you may want to ask.
Dinner
Nothing on the dinner menu is vegan unless you forgo the entree, which then leaves you with a plate of sides.
Sides
Most of the sides at Denny’s are actually vegan. Just make sure you tell them not to use any butter or margarine. Some of the sides you could choose from include: potatoes, broccoli, corn, and whole grain rice. There’s no clear answer on whether or not their fries are vegan. If they buy their french fries frozen from a wholesaler, which they most likely do, then there’s a good chance the fries contain lard and/or whey since most frozen french fries do.
Appetizers & Desserts
None of the appetizers or desserts at Denny’s are vegan.
