Oreos, as everyone knows, are chocolate cookies with a cream filling – two things that are typically not vegan. However, if you have a look at Oreos’ ingredients, you might be surprised.
The “cream” filling is not real cream, so it doesn’t contain dairy. The chocolate cookie is also free of dairy and eggs. I should warn you, however, according to this blogger, the Oreos sold in Europe are not vegan because they contain whey. Sorry, mates.

You are way off on this this product is not vegan because it contains sugar which is refined using bone char so how exactly is it vegan ???? Get your facts straight! !!
Vegan Food Lover says
Hi April, not all refined sugar is processed with bone char. Refined sugar may also come from beets – a different process that does not involve any animal derivitives. It’s very difficult to know the source of refined sugar in America, and therefore many people in the vegan community still view foods that contain sugar as vegan. Also, from a strictly dietary perspective, all sugars are vegan, because even the kind you’re refering to doesn’t actually contain any animal ingredients.

Some Lecithin contains egg yolks or directly obtained from animal fat. Other sources of Lecithin are soy.
