Due to consumer demand, Subway has released a pair of vegan sandwiches in four of their major markets. Five years ago, a group called, We Love Subway started asking vegan Subway fans to put pressure on the company to produce more vegan options. Before the new Black Bean and Malibu Garden (pictured above) sandwiches, the only vegan sandwich option at Subway was a veggie sub without any cheese. In other words, there were no specifically vegan menu items. Even the veggie patties contain animal products.
The exact regions that currently have the new vegan sandwiches are: Washington, D.C., South FL, Connecticut, and Los Angeles.
