Growing up in cattle country, I never thought that I would be interested in reading a Hellman’s Vegan Mayo review.
I grew up in Texas, the Longhorn State. For that reason, I was a meat and potatoes guy for the first 40 years of my life. Later, after I turned 40, I met a California gal and fell in love. Consequently, I ended up graduating from a vegan culinary school. As a result, I remained vegan for about eight years.
In my late 40s, I returned to eating meat and I experienced a variety of health issues. For instance, I suffered from high cholesterol. I had an elevated heart rate. And I was 50 pounds overweight.
Then, I bought a [amazon link=”B074VDF16S” title=”Fitbit Ionic”] fitness watch 17 months ago. And I began a diet and exercise program.
Purchasing a fitness tracker was one of the best decisions of my life. Summing up, I have lost nearly 47 pounds. Additionally, my resting heart rate dropped from about 80 beats per minute to 59 bpm.
Here’s the thing: there is no way I could have done this without watching what I eat. Mayonnaise is one of those things that are not exactly healthy. So, what should you look for in mayo if you are trying to get healthy?
What to Look for in a Mayonnaise

My cooking style calls for a healthy dose of mayo. Mayo can make or break a sandwich by adding texture and flavor. However, it can come at a cost. When choosing a mayo, it is vital to think about four items. First how much fat does it contain? Second, is there cholesterol? Next, does it have salt?
There are also many types of mayo to consider. For instance, do you like light or low fat? Next, do you go for avocado oil, sunflower oil, or Canola?
Vegan Mayo vs. Real Mayonnaise
There are a few differences between vegan mayo and real mayonnaise. For example, vegan mayo can have a lighter flavor. On the other hand, it can also have less oil and salt. Best of all, vegan mayo usually has less saturated fat and cholesterol than real mayo.
