Gingerbread-Spiced Hot Chocolate
Hot chocolate cooked on the stove top, spiced with ginger, cinnamon, toasted cloves, nutmeg, and allspice.
- 1 cup water
- 1 1/2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1/2 cup cashew milk or milk of choice
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp toasted cloves or ground cloves
- 2 drops vanilla extract
- Bring water and coconut oil to a boil. Add cocoa powder, syrup, and toasted cloves. Let simmer on medium heat, stirring frequently, until a few oz of the liquid has evaporated to form a thin chocolate syrup. This should take about 5 to 10 min.
