Are Chips Ahoy Mini Cookies Vegan?

March 25, 2022 by Samuel Warde Leave a Comment

Nabisco Chips Ahoy! is probably the most famous brand of chocolate chip cookies in America, or perhaps even the entire world, but are they vegan friendly? Considering traditional chocolate chip cookies are made with butter and eggs, it should come as no surprise that Chips Ahoy! cookies are not vegan. However, it’s not the inclusion of butter and eggs that makes Chips Ahoy! non-vegan, it’s the use of whey protein , a dairy byproduct. While Chips Ahoy! cookies come in a wide variety of styles and flavors, rest assured, the further you get from the original kind, the less vegan they get.

If you’re feeling bummed out over this information, cheer yourself up by making these awesome vegan chocolate chip cookies! I promise they are way better than Chips Ahoy!! It’s easy to make vegan chocolate chip cookies since all you have to do is replace the eggs and milk, and use dairy-free chocolate chips. If for some reason you can’t find dairy-free chocolate chips at your grocery store, just use semi-sweet baker’s chocolate and make chocolate chunk cookies instead.

Nabisco Chips Ahoy! Ingredients
