Toronto, Ontario sounds like one of the last places you would expect to find a vegan restaurant that specializes in authentic Caribbean food, but you can’t make this stuff up. Yes, as it turns out, if you want to get some plant-based Jamaican food that’ll blow your socks off, you’ll have to go to Canada. V’s Caribbean Restaurant is the name of the place, and it’s where to go if you’re in the mood for a heaping plate of maple jerk tofu served with fried plantains and avocado.
From the looks of it, V’s appears to have a happy and loyal customer based, which is always a good sign. The solid 5-star rating on their Facebook page and Yelp also confirms this. In fact, the worst review I’ve found is 3 stars and the Yelper still used superlatives, like “genius” and “exceptional.” Again, that is the worst review.
Now take a look at some of the 5-star reviews; people genuinely love V’s Caribbean Restaurant…
I’ve been envious of Canadians for quite some time, but now I think it’s time to apply for citizenship.
