As many of you may know, we hardly ever write about anything that is not food related, but when we do, it tends to be about dogs. Yes, in addition to being vegan food lovers, we are also dog lovers. Give us a cute dog story, and odds are we’ll run with it. So when I across this story about Freddie, the tallest dog in the world, I immediately knew I had to share it with you, because just look at how awesome this dog is!
As soon as I saw Freddie, I immediately thought of Clifford the Big Red Dog. If Freddie was my dog when I was kid, I would have totally brought him to school for show and tell, and been like, “Hey everyone, Clifford the Big Red Dog is here!” Of course, I would’ve had to paint him red, which probably wouldn’t have worked out, but whatever… still would’ve been the coolest show and tell ever!

Freddie is a Great Dane, and he literally holds the Guinness World Record for being the tallest dog as of 2016. Just how tall is he? Well, standing on his hind legs, Freddie is 7’6″ tall. That means he is far taller than the average NBA player, who only measures in at about 6’11.
Ironically, Freddie’s owner, Claire Stoneman of Leigh-on-Sea, England, said she took him home from his litter two weeks before she was supposed to because he was the runt, and she was afraid he wasn’t getting his fair share of mom’s milk due to his small size. By the time Freddie was all grown up, Claire couldn’t believe how huge he’d grown.
Imagine the look on the face of a burglar who happened to break into Freddie’s house… I’m sure Freddie is probably a big ol’ sweetheart, but if I suddenly turned around and saw his T-Rex-size mug staring at me, I’m pretty sure I’d poop my pants.
