Orchard Grocer is Vegan-izing Jewish Deli Favorites with Fine Attention to Detail and Respect for the Originals…
NYC vegans just got a special treat: an authentic Jewish-style deli that is 100 percent plant-based – as if NYC didn’t already have enough amazing vegan restaurants to choose from. When you think of classic New York sandwiches, The Rueben and bagel and lox are two that probably come to mind, and Orchard Grocer does both of them convincingly well. As you can see in the videos above and below, the bagel and carrot-lox with house-made cashew cream cheese is no slouch, and according to this Thrillist review by a meat eater, Orchard Grove’s version of a Reuben doesn’t exactly taste like beef, but the look and feel are spot on, as well as the vegan thousand island dressing.

In addition to making vegan sandwiches, Orchard Grocer also sells vegan groceries, hence the name. So while you’re waiting on your vegan pastrami on rye, you can also grab a bag of vegan pork rinds and some Chao cheese to take home with you. Whether you live in NYC or you’re just visiting, you’ll definitely want to check this place out. They are open now at 78 Orchard Street
New York, NY 10002. You can find out more here.
